Church History

Midway Baptist Church was organized in 1970 when 10 people met for a prayer meeting.  They were convicted to begin a church where the Spirit of the Lord could truly be felt.

The first place of worship was a carpenter shop.  Land was donated on November 19, 1970.  The church was accepted into the Russell Baptist Association on January 6, 1971.  The first sanctuary, which is now the fellowship hall, was dedicated on Easter Sunday, 1972.  Additional education space was dedicated in August 1978.  A new worship center was dedicated on Easter Sunday 1993.  In 1999, additional land was donated to Midway.

Our third full-time pastor, Reverend Jeffrey A. Dravenstott was called on April 24, 2005.  Future plans include several projects such as the Tidwell Family Life Center, Prayer Walk, and a Bridge of Hope.
